Pop star ANASTACIA has been slapped with a $3 million (£2.2 million) lawsuit from her ex-manager over allegations of unpaid commissions.
Lisa Braude claims she played a crucial role in helping to turn the singer into a major star during her rise to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but after ending their working relationship in 2004, the I’m Outta Love hitmaker reportedly stopped paying her fees related to previous projects.
According to TMZ.com, Braude alleges the missing commissions relate to the albums Anastacia released while she was battling breast cancer following her first diagnosis in 2003, and now she is suing to get a hold of the funds she believes she is owed.
Anastacia dropped two studio projects during that time – her self-titled album in 2004, and the 2005 compilation Pieces of a Dream.
The singer has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
