Disgraced movie boss HARVEY WEINSTEIN knew ASHLEY JUDD would expose him as a sexual predator, because she has always been honest about abuse and harassment.
The actress was among a group of women who went public with accusations against the producer for a New York Times expose, which was published a month ago.
The detailed article cost Weinstein his board position at production firm The Weinstein Company and his marriage to designer Georgina Chapman, while several other men and women have used Judd’s example to open up about alleged sordid encounters with the movie mogul and other Hollywood bigwigs such as Kevin Spacey, director James Toback, Brett Ratner and Steven Seagal.
And now Judd, who is proud of her position as one of the first whistleblowers in the ongoing Hollywood sex scandal, insists Weinstein should have known better than to harass her.
Speaking at the HOPE for Depression Research Foundation luncheon on Wednesday (08Nov17), the Frida star said, “I’m a teller – Harvey knows that.
“I was sexually abused the first time (when) I was in second grade. I went straight to some adults and said, ‘This just happened, this guy molested me’, and the adults said, ‘Oh, that’s not what he meant, he’s a nice old guy’.”
“There was another sexual assault I experienced.. in the seventh or eighth grade,” she added. “This guy is a registered sex offender in a county that is contiguous to where I live in Tennessee, but I have no conscious memory of that assault whatsoever.”
Ashley was honoured with the HOPE award for Depression Advocacy at the gala.
