JOSH DUHAMEL has opened up about married life with wife FERGIE.
The Transformers star and The Black Eyed Peas singer have been together for 13 years, with Duhamel now revealing the secret behind their happy union.
“We genuinely like each other,” the 44-year-old told Haute Living magazine.
The actor met Fergie, real name Stacy Ann Ferguson, in 2004 when she appeared on his TV show Las Vegas with her band. They wed in 2009, and welcomed son Axl in 2013.
“(We) have a lot of love for our son and have a good time together,” he added. “And that’s about it.”
Duhamel earned his heartthrob status after appearing on U.S. soap opera All My Children in 1999 as Leo du Pres, and posing nude for Greg Gorman’s As I See It book in 2000.
Reflecting on his life now, the actor said his days of being a sex symbol are firmly behind him.
“I don’t know if I even was a sex symbol,” he explained. “Maybe when I was younger but I don’t know. I don’t feel so much of that anymore.”
Duhamel is next appearing in Transformers: The Last Knight, the latest instalment of the robot action saga, and has just finished filming Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, alongside Jennifer Garner and Nick Robinson, who plays his son.
“I’m playing the father of a 17-year-old kid, which I didn’t think was possible. And then I realised I was 44 and it’s totally possible,” he laughed. “That was a bit of shock to the ego, knowing that I could have a son that old, but it’s been really fun.”
Transformers: The Last Knight hits cinemas from 23 June (17).
