JUSTIN THEROUX has returned to social media in the wake of his split from wife JENNIFER ANISTON.
The Leftovers star and the Friends actress shocked fans when they announced in a statement that they were ending their marriage after just two-and-a-half years on 15 February (18).
Justin, who is appearing in film Mute which premiered on Netflix on Friday, cancelled an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert a few days later and has been keeping a low profile since.
However, on Sunday he made a brief return to social media to promote a cause close to his heart.
The 46-year-old shared photos of himself cuddling up to some adorable puppies during a visit with Texas non-profit group Austin Pets Alive.
“Texas!!! ️Another very inspiring visit with the incredible people and pups @austinpetsalive,” he wrote in a post on his Instagram account. “I cannot understand how they do what they do, day after day, so consistently and lovingly to save so many dogs and cats. I HIGHLY recommend going in and getting your nose bit by a toothless baby pitbull. Thes(e) two aren’t yet ready to go, but when they are go get em… Oh! And hey Houston! You have a Pets Alive no kill shelter there too!”
He finished up the post with a hashtagged shoutout to Selena Gomez, perhaps in a bid to get the post seen by more dog-loving followers.
Justin got to know the charity when he lived in Austin during the filming of HBO drama The Leftovers, and previously donated $10,000 (£7,000) to the animal organisation during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
While Justin made no comment about his marriage break-up in the statement released by the former couple, the actor and 49-year-old Jennifer shared that their decision to split was “mutual”, and “lovingly made at the end of last year.”
“We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship,” the statement concluded.
