MARIA MENOUNOS is feeling “tougher and wiser” after her brain tumour surgery.
The TV personality underwent surgery to remove a golf ball-sized meningioma brain tumour that was affecting her facial nerves earlier this year (17).
And Maria took to Instagram on Saturday (06Jul17) to update her fans on her condition and share an inspirational quote, which read, “We don’t grow when things are easy. We grow when we face challenges.”
Alongside the message, the 39-year-old added a heartfelt note where she explained that even the bad times were a “gift” which had only made her stronger.
“For anyone going through a tough time. We all go through difficult times in every area of life. No one has it easy,” she wrote in the caption.
“What I always try to remind myself is that every bad time has also been a gift. A chance to learn and grow. I look back at all the really tough times and realise it was all building blocks to get me tougher and wiser.
“This helped me keep a good attitude through my #braintumor diagnosis and surgery. I really do believe that everything happens for a reason, we just don’t know why yet. Have a blessed Saturday everyone.”
Maria began experiencing symptoms in February (17) and was shocked to learn that she had a brain tumour, while her mother is also currently battling stage four brain cancer.
“I didn’t cry. I actually laughed,” she told People magazine. “It’s so surreal and crazy and unbelievable that my mom has a brain tumour – and now I have one too?”
She had surgery to remove the tumour in June (17).
