SARAH HYLAND is convinced the only person who finds her funny is her boyfriend WELLS ADAMS.
The 27-year-old has played Haley Dunphy in the long-running TV comedy series Modern Family, and despite making audiences laugh on a weekly basis, Sarah has little confidence in her skills off-screen.
“I don’t know. I’m just… I think I’m hysterical when I’m really not,” she told People.com. “I’ll be like, ‘This is an amazing bit that I have to put on my Instagram Story.’ But the thing about Instagram Story is you don’t get responses, so I don’t know if people actually like them or not!”
However, she does think there is one person who truly understands her humour – new boyfriend Wells Adams.
“I think the only person who actually somewhat finds me funny is my boyfriend. Thank God!” she said of her Bachelor in Paradise reality star beau.
The couple got together in October (17) after exchanging flirty messages on social media, and its relationship has gone from strength to strength, with Wells recently impressing the actress with a week-long birthday celebration at Disneyland in California.
But there’s one thing that Sarah has avoided doing so far, and that’s introducing her boyfriend to her Modern Family co-stars, including her TV mum and dad, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, and Ed O’Neill, who plays Haley’s grandfather Jay.
“These people have become my real-life family. It’s almost like, you gotta (introduce partners to them),” she told Entertainment Tonight in November (17). “Like, for guys, you have to meet the parents, which is stressful. But then I think the more stressful thing is to meet the second family, which is not only the Dunphy family but the entire cast, and the entire crew and all of our writers, and everybody that’s involved.”
“That’s the second family that I think is the most terrifying thing for guys that I date,” Sarah joked.
