Tyra Banks will also take over from Nick Cannon as host of America’s Got Talent.
The retired supermodel, who co-created the series, will return for the 24th season.
Banks hosted the popular programme for 22 seasons before Rita Ora took over for season 23. Tyra returned to the show for the finale, which aired last week (ends10Mar17).
The news comes just days after the 43-year-old was announced as the new host of America’s Got Talent, following Nick Cannon’s recent exit.
In a statement, the star explained her decision to rejoin ANTM after making it clear she only wanted to work behind the scenes of the show. She also expressed gratitude for the continued support of fans.
“I’m overwhelmed and humbled by the intensity of the ANTM fan base, whose deep affection for the show led me to have a change of heart,” Banks said. “After giving it a lot of thought, I realised that remaining behind the camera wasn’t enough because ANTM is woven into my DNA.”
The former Victoria Secret Angel also shared her excitement in a series of tweets.
“I missed my ANTM baby so Mama’s back!” Banks posted.
And she heaped praise on Ora, who she thanked for her work on the long-running hit.
“Mizz @ritaora, you exemplify Business Boss Brand to the fullest!” she tweeted. “Thank you for all the amazingness you brought to ANTM.”
Banks will continue to executive produce the series along with collaborator Ken Mok, who has also thanked Ora for “being a great partner and total pro”.
