28. 1970s: Bill Gates Riding His Bike
It is very like that Bill Gates wasn’t aware that he would single-handedly advance technology and become one of the wealthiest men in the world when he discovered his love for programming in a private prep school at 13. Starting with writing payroll software for a company in the 1970s and then scheduling software for his school, Gates was so determined to pursue his dream that he dropped out of Harvard after only two years to start building Microsoft with Paul Allen.
27. 1978: David Bowie in a Sailor Costume
Born and raised in London, England, David Robert Jones, aka David Bowie, was a legend in the music industry. Though he couldn’t even stand out in a school choir, couldn’t make his first band work, and his first release bombed, his artistic vision and creativity eventually got him where he dreamed of reaching. Sadly, he passed away due to liver cancer in 2016, but it will be long before his antics and his work that still inspires people all around the world are forgotten.
