10. Jared Leto
Jared founded his band 30 Seconds to Mars in 1998 with his brother, Shannon and guitarist Tomo Milocevic, Jared sings lead vocals with the band. The alternative rock band has enjoyed both critical and commercial success. They’ve sold over 10 million albums worldwide and have enjoyed performing for sold out crowds all over the country. When Leto isn’t performing music, he’s starring in movies like “Fight Club,” “American Psycho,” and most recently “Dallas Buyers Club,” a role in which he played a transvestite so convincingly that he earned a Golden Globe award.
9. Ryan Gosling
Even though Gosling has had practically no vocal training it didn’t stop him from joining with Zack Shields to form a folk rock band called Dead Man’s Bones. Gosling and Shields recorded and released a self-titled album in 2009. The album consisted of Halloween themed songs. Shields and Gosling met when Ryan was dating Rachel McAdams and Shields was dating Rachel’s sister Kayleen. The men struck up a friendship and then a band. Gosling has scored big in Hollywood with hit movie after hit movie and solidified himself as a leading man with his roles in films like “The Notebook” and “Crazy, Stupid Love”
8. Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves has been in the Hollywood spotlight for a very, very long time. From Bill and Ted, “Speed” and “The Matrix” franchise, Keanu has managed to foster a very lengthy career in a town where it is a challenge to keep yourself in the game. Keanu wasn’t satisfied with just being a mega movie star though, he decided to venture into the dual rock star/movie star world when he formed the grunge band Dogstar in 1990 with Robert Mailhouse. Reeves served as the bassist and the group released two albums after signing with Zoo Records.
7. Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon proved way back in “Footloose” that he had some great moves, but he put them on hold for quite awhile to become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, so big in fact, that there is a theory that every actor in Hollywood can be linked to him within six degrees of separation. Kevin finally slowed down a little from the fast lane of starring in films and formed a country/pop group called The Bacon Brothers with his brother Michael in 1994, the brothers recruited a bassist and a drummer and released their first album in 1997 with a follow up in 1999. They released “The Best of the Bacon Brothers” in 2011 and then Kevin returned full force to his acting career with a mega-hit television show on Fox, “The Following” which leaves viewers glued to the edge of their seats.
6. Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick is relatively new to the Hollywood scene, but she’s scored some major wins in her time there. She costarred in “The Twilight Saga” as one of Bella’s friends. Anna secured a role in “Pitch Perfect” where she performed “Cups (When I’m Gone)”, accompanied by a pretty nifty and impressive cup rhythm routine. It was confirmed in the summer of 2013 that Anna would be putting her vocal and acting talents to use by starring as Cinderella in the movie version of the hit musical “Into the Woods.”
